Round 16 in Nazionale A means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Orlandina where host Orlandina (10-6) beat league's leader Chieti (8-8) 74-67 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chieti. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Chieti won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orlandina forced 21 Chieti turnovers. The former international guard Fabio Zanelli (196-76) fired 24 points for the winners. Guard Filippo Alessandri (190-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized San Marino swingman Andrea Raschi (200-79) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Chieti players scored in double figures. Orlandina moved-up to second place, which they share with Treviglio and Ferentino. Chieti at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Trento. Chieti will play next round against strong Latina Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Orlandina will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Ruvo in Ruvo di Puglia.
