Regular Season Round 40: Corr.Victoria - Huracanes 90-96

Rather predictable result in Ciudad Victoria where sixth ranked Huracanes (24-14) defeated 8th ranked Correcaminos (16-21) 96-90 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-21. But Correcaminos won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Albert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Huracanes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Myron Allen (180-79, college: Lee JC) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Robert Brown (195-80, college: Buffalo, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Five Huracanes and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Huracanes maintains sixth position with 24-14 record. Correcaminos at the other side keep the eighth place with 21 games lost. Huracanes will face higher ranked Toros (#3) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Correcaminos will play at home against the league's leader Fuerza Regia (#1) in Monterrey.
