Regular Season Round 17: PGE Turow - Stelmet ZG 74-65

No shocking result in a game in Zgorzelec where third ranked PGE Turow (12-4) defeated 6th ranked Zastal ZG (8-7) 74-65 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-65. PGE Turow made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. American guard Ronald Moore (183-88, college: Siena) stepped up and scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized French forward Aaron Cel (203-87) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five PGE Turow players scored in double figures. point guard Marcin Flieger (182-84, agency: Promotex) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivorian-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. PGE Turow used an opportunity after Energa Czarni lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Zastal ZG keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Slask Wroclaw. PGE Turow will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zastal ZG will play against AZS Koszalin (#9) and hope to secure a win.
