Regular Season Round 14: Maurienne - Quimper 91-86
Date: December 23, 2011
No shocking result in a game in Aix-les-Bains where sixth ranked Aix-Maurienne (9-5) defeated 17th ranked Quimper UJAP (4-10) 91-86 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-86. Aix-Maurienne outrebounded Quimper UJAP 34-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American Wilbert Brown (199-84, college: Niagara, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. American-DR Congolese power forward Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Aix-Maurienne's coach Antoine Michon used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Liberian-American Pele Paelay (193-84, college: Co.Carolina) produced 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Vincent Mouillard (187-87) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests.
