Regular Season Round 23: Kyoto Hannar. - Akita NH 79-78

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Akita Happinets (13-8) on the court of fourth ranked Kyoto Hannar. on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Kyoto Hannar. 79-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-21. But Akita Happinets won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyoto Hannar. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Dutch-American power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-80, college: Binghamton) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar. (14-5) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Akita Happinets at the other side still keep top position with eight games lost. Kyoto Hannar. is again looking forward to face league's leader Akita Happinets at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akita Happinets will have a break next round.
