Regular Season Round 23: Fukuoka Rizing - Shimane SM 83-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Shimane Magic's (12-9) road loss to fifth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-7) 76-83 on Saturday. Shimane Magic trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 28-22 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 76-83 at the end of the game. Fukuoka Rizing dominated on the defensive end, holding Shimane Magic to just 6 points in first quarter. Fukuoka Rizing forced 21 Shimane Magic turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) helped adding 13 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fukuoka Rizing. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Shimane Magic keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face again Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round.
