Regular Season Round 24: Shiga L-Stars - Iwate Big Bulls 89-74

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (6-16) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (15-7) 89-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Iwate Big Bulls was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shiga L-Stars made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Shiga L-Stars' coach Al Westover allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who recorded 19 points and guard Yoshiaki Yamamoto (-82) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains fourth position with 15-7 record, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play at home against Saitama Broncos (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
