There was a minor upset in Nagano where 6th ranked Shinshu BW (9-13) was edged by eighth ranked Yokohama BC (8-11) 78-76 on Sunday. Shinshu BW trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-78 at the end of the game. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) added 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC maintains eighth position with 8-11 record. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Yokohama BC will face higher ranked Toyama Grouses (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
