Regular Season Round 11: Elizur Ashkelon - Netanya 84-86

A very close game took place in Ashkelon between Elitzur Netanya and Ironi Ashkelon. Tenth ranked Elitzur Netanya (4-6) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-5). Elitzur Netanya managed to escape with a 2-point win 86-84 on Monday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ironi Ashkelon won third quarter 26-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Elitzur Netanya looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Brian Asbury (200-86, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Marco Killingsworth (202-82, college: Indiana, agency: Interperformances) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and American-Nigerian guard Tony Skinn (185-83, college: George Mason) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Elitzur Netanya. They moved-up to eighth place. Ironi Ashkelon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon and B.C. Habikaa. Elitzur Netanya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#10) and hope to secure a win.
