Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi Rishon - Maccabi Haifa 76-74

A very interesting game took place in Rishon Le-Zion. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Maccabi Haifa (3-7) to sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon (5-5) 76-74 on Monday evening. Maccabi Haifa was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 25-17 third quarter run of Maccabi Rishon. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Joe Crawford (196-86, college: Kentucky, agency: Priority Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Carlos Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized American swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Maccabi Haifa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with B.C. Habikaa and Ironi Ashkelon. Maccabi Haifa lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Maccabi Rishon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Haifa will play against B.C. Habikaa (#6).
