Regular Season Round 17: Shanghai S. - TianJin S. 93-81

Date: December 28, 2011
There was no surprise when 14th ranked TianJin Rongcheng (5-11) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (8-8) 93-81. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Sharks. TianJin Rongcheng was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Ryan Forehan-Kelly (196-80, college: California) accounted for 24 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Donnell Harvey (203-80, college: Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and forward Nan Zhang (197-81) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for TianJin Rongcheng in the defeat. Four TianJin Rongcheng players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shanghai Sharks. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Fujian XX. TianJin Rongcheng at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Shanghai Sharks' next round opponent will be Qingdao Double Star (#13) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. TianJin Rongcheng will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou.
