Regular Season Round 17: Fujian QB - Xinjiang FT 115-92

We should mention about the upset which took place in Jinjiang, where higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (8-7) was outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (8-8) 115-92. The game without a history. Fujian SBS XunXin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Xinjiang Flying Tige's 40. They outrebounded Xinjiang Flying Tige 49-29 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) accounted for 17 points and 16 rebounds. Five Fujian SBS XunXin players scored in double figures. Swingman GuoChong Xu (198-81) came up with 46 points (!!!) (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) added 16 points respectively for Xinjiang Flying Tige in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fujian SBS XunXin. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shanghai S. Xinjiang Flying Tige lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Fujian SBS XunXin's next round opponent will be Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in Taiyuan.
