Regular Season Round 13: FIATC Joventut - Real Madrid 78-75

The most exciting game of round 13 in the ACB took place in Badalona. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Real Madrid (10-3) to fourteenth ranked FIATC Joventut (5-8) 78-75 on Thursday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-17. But Real Madrid won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Albert Oliver (187-78) stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Latavious Williams (202-91) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Montenegrin power forward Nikola Mirotic (207-91) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) scored 15 points. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FIATC Joventut moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Real Madrid at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. FIATC Joventut is looking forward to face higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Real Madrid will play against the league's leader Regal FC Barcelona having rather not much hope for a victory.
