The most important game in the last round took place in Loimaa between second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (13-5) and tenth ranked KTP-Basket (6-14) on Friday night. Loimaan Korikonkarit was defeated by KTP-Basket at home 97-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Loimaan Korikonkarit. The game was mostly controlled by KTP-Basket. Loimaan Korikonkarit managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when KTP-Basket won last quarter 26-17. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Amal McCaskill (211-73, college: Marquette) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) added 14 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket maintains tenth position with 6-14 record. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. KTP-Basket are looking forward to face higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#4) in Helsinki in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Loimaan Korikonkarit will have a break next round.
