Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Caceres 2016 and 12th ranked Basquet Mallorca had identical 7-8 record. But Basquet Mallorca was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Caceres 88-83 on Friday night. Basquet Mallorca was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Caceres 2016 made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jose Angel Antelo (203-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Pedro Robles (192-77) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Joan Carles Bivia (185-85) responded with 19 points and 5 assists and Fiji guard Marques Whippy (196-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Basquet Mallorca players scored in double figures. Caceres 2016 (8-8) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Breogan and Girona. Newly promoted Basquet Mallorca dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Caceres 2016 will face CB Clavijo (#16) in Logrono in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Basquet Mallorca will play on the road against Baloncesto Leon (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
