CBA top team - Beijing Ducks (14-3) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Jilin Tigers (7-10) in Changchun 104-98. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jilin Tigers won third quarter 27-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 7 blocks. American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) supported him with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. Jordanian guard Osama Daghles (198-79, college: Midwestern St.) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Beijing Ducks and five Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks maintains first position with 14-3 record. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the eleventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Shandong FB. Beijing Ducks will meet at home Liaoning Hunters (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Jilin Tigers will play against TianJin Rongcheng (#15) in Tianjin and hope to secure a win.
