Very important is a road loss of third ranked Angelico Biella (7-5) against fifteenth ranked Novipiu CM (4-8) on Friday night. Visiting Angelico Biella was defeated by Novipiu CM in a tough game in Casale 70-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But Angelico Biella won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona) nailed 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Swedish-Nigerian power forward Oluoma Nnamaka (201-78, college: Marquette) accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds. Novipiu CM's coach Marco Crespi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jacob Pullen (182-89, college: Kansas St.) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Angelico Biella in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Novipiu CM moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Fabi Shoes. Angelico Biella at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Novipiu CM will play against higher ranked CS Bologna (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Angelico Biella will play against Banco di Sard. in Sassari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
