Regular Season Round 26: Okinawa GK - Fukuoka Rizing 100-90 OT

Fifth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (15-9) was very close to win a game against first ranked Okinawa GK (19-5) on Monday. Okinawa GK managed to secure only ten-point victory 100-90. However their fans expected much easier game. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Fukuoka Rizing was better in third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Fukuoka Rizing used huge pressure winning it 25-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 4-14. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Okinawa GK made 9 blocks. American players dominated the game. Forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Five Okinawa GK and four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-5 record.
