A very interesting game took place in Ashkelon. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-8) to seventh ranked Ironi Ashkelon (6-5) 87-85 on Monday evening. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 31-27 run, which allowed them to win the game. Ironi Ashkelon made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Ironi Ashkelon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Ironi Ashkelon's next round opponent will be league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it may be the game of the week.
