The game in Jurmala was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Jelgava (7-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Jurmala (4-11). Jelgava managed to secure a 9-point victory 87-78 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-78. Jelgava forced 20 Jurmala turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Kristaps Kanbergs (190-88) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Kyle Nelson (203-89, college: Augustana, IL, agency: N.E.T.) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Jelgava will meet league's leader Valmiera on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jurmala will play against Latvijas Universitate (#6) in Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
