Round 14 in ACB means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Madrid where host Real Madrid (11-3) beat league's leader Regal FC Barcelona (11-3) 78-74 on Wednesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Regal FC Barcelona won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 16 points. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Boniface Ndong (213-77) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, agency: Edge Sports) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Real Madrid keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Regal FC Barcelona. Regal FC Barcelona will play next round against Meridiano Alicante trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Real Madrid will try to continue on its current victory against seventeenth ranked UCAM Murcia on the road.
