There was no surprise in Bologna where 13th ranked Biancoblu BO (4-9) was defeated by sixth ranked Enel Brindisi (8-5) 89-82 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Biancoblu BO won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Enel Brindisi won last quarter 27-21. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Biancoblu BO's 34. The best player for the winners was naturalized Albanian swingman Klaudio Ndoja (198-85) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Alex Renfroe (190-86, college: Belmont) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American guard Tre Kelley (182-85, college: S.Carolina) produced 21 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Andrea Pecile (187-80) added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Five Enel Brindisi and four Biancoblu BO players scored in double figures. Enel Brindisi moved-up to third place, which they share with Centrale Latte and Givova Scafati. Biancoblu BO lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Enel Brindisi will face Givova Scafati (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Biancoblu BO will play against Sigma Barcellona (#7).
