Very expected game when 14th ranked Heat (1-6) lost to seventh ranked Bisons (5-4) in Kelowna, BC 65-80 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-65. Bisons forced 19 Heat turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Kevin Oliver (198) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Kurtis Sansregret contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Bisons players scored in double figures. Bret Macdonald answered with 23 points and Simon Pelland added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Heat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bisons. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Heat keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Bisons will face Wolfpack (#7) in Kamloops, BC in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Heat will play at home against Wesmen (#13) in Winnipeg, MB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
