Regular Season Round 21: Zhejiang CB - Xinjiang FT 114-112 OT

Xinjiang Flying Tige (#9) forced the game against Zhejiang Cyclones (#5) into an overtime, but lost by two points 112-114. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Xinjiang Flying Tige won third quarter 33-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Xinjiang Flying Tige used huge pressure winning it 31-26 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-13. Zhejiang Cyclones made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Cyclones outrebounded Xinjiang Flying Tige 50-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 22 rebounds. Guard J.R. Smith (198-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) who recorded 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) added 26 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Zhejiang Cyclones and four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Cyclones (12-7) moved-up to fourth place. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Zhejiang Cyclones' next round opponent will be Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in Taiyuan which should be theoretically an easy game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons in Nanjing.
