Regular Season Round 21: Jiangsu D. - Fujian QB 84-105

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (11-9) crushed bottom-ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-16) in Nanjing 105-84 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian SBS XunXin. Jiangsu Dragons was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian SBS XunXin dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 44. Fujian SBS XunXin had a 35-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Anthony Roberson (188-83, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Fujian SBS XunXin's coach Joseph Stiebing felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Li Yi (203-85) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Jiangsu Dragons. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fujian SBS XunXin have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Liaoning H. Jiangsu Dragons lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Fujian SBS XunXin will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#9) in Urumqi.
