Regular Season Round 21: Foshan LL - Guangsha L. 97-96

The most exciting game of round 21 in the CBA took place in Foshan. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-best Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (14-6) to sixteenth ranked Foshan (6-13) 97-96 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 1 point. Foshan made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Syrian guard Michel Maadanly (195-81) who saved his team from a defeat with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American-Filipino power forward Marcus Douthit (210-80, college: Providence, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Wilson Chandler (203-87, college: De Paul) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) added 23 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Foshan moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Bayi Fubang. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Beijing Ducks. Foshan is looking forward to face higher ranked Jilin Tigers (#13) in Changchun in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against Shanghai Sharks (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
