Regular Season Round 21: Qingdao E. - Liaoning H. 111-96

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Qingdao Double Star (9-11) won against at home higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (11-9) 111-96 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 67-47 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Qingdao Double Star looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a good game for American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Nigerian-British power forward Olumide Oyedeji (208-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Qingdao Double Star's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ming Yang (193-85) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Liaoning Hunters. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eleventh place with 9-11 record. Loser Liaoning Hunters dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Qingdao Double Star will face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
