Very important is a home loss of third ranked Beijing Ducks (14-6) against fifth ranked DongGuan Leopards (12-8) on Friday night. Host Beijing Ducks were crushed by DongGuan Leopards in Beijing 109-85. The game was mostly controlled by DongGuan Leopards. Beijing Ducks was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DongGuan Leopards forced 21 Beijing Ducks turnovers. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Biao Qiu (200-83) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Four DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) with 31 points and 9 assists and the other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. DongGuan Leopards maintains fifth place with 12-8 record. Beijing Ducks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Guangsha L.. DongGuan Leopards will play against TianJin Rongcheng (#16) in Tianjin in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Fujian SBS XunXin (#8) in Jinjiang and hope to get back on the winning track.
