There was a minor upset in Kamloops where 9th ranked Winnipeg (4-5) was rolled over by eleventh ranked Thompson Rivers (4-5) 84-61 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thompson Rivers. Winnipeg was better in second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thompson Rivers forced 24 Winnipeg turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Diane Schuetze (191) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jen Ju (170) who added 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Alyssa Grant (183) with 17 points and guard Amy Ogidan (183) scored 4 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thompson Rivers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Winnipeg. Thompson Rivers will face Manitoba (#11) in Winnipeg in the next round where they are favorite. Winnipeg will play against UBC Okanagan (#12).
