Regular Season Round 13: UFV - Lethbridge 64-56

Very predictable result in Abbotsford where second ranked UFV (7-3) beat 13th ranked Lethbridge (2-8) 64-56 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-56. UFV dominated on the defensive end, holding Lethbridge to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Lethbridge 37-22 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Tessa Klassen (173-88) fired 24 points for the winners. Forward Sarah Wierks (188) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. UFV's coach Al Tuchscherer used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Lauren Taal (175) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Deanna Dotts (183, college: N.Idaho JC) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for UFV. They maintain second place with 7-3 record behind leader Ottawa, which they share with 5 other teams. Lethbridge lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
