Dandenong Rangers (#5) were upset in Loganholme by eighth ranked Logan Thunder 76-71. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Dandenong Rangers outrebounded Logan Thunder 46-34 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Renae Camino (177-86) who scored 28 points. International center Cayla Francis (192-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tegan Cunningham (185-88, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian center Krista Phillips (198-88, college: Michigan) added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Five Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Logan Thunder (7-6) moved-up to seventh place. Dandenong Rangers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Logan Thunder will meet at home AIS (#9) in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against Bendigo Spirit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
