There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Cougars (3-6) won against higher ranked Bobcats (4-6) in Brandon, MB 83-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-74. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Jared Janotta (191) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Paul Gareau (201) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Cougars' coach James Hillis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jordan Reaves replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Donovan Gayle (193) added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Bobcats. Four Bobcats players scored in double figures. Cougars moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Bobcats dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Cougars will have a break next round.
