The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Gryphons' (5-5) road loss to fifth ranked Lancers (7-3) in Windsor, ON 59-70 on Saturday. Lancers forced 23 Gryphons turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lancers made 8 blocks. Guard Josh Collins (186-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jahmal McQueen (201-89) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Guard Kareem Malcolm (183) replied with 21 points and guard Drew Morris (183) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Gryphons. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lancers have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brock. Loser Gryphons dropped to the third position with five games lost. Lancers will face Warriors (#7) in Waterloo, ON in the next round. Gryphons will play on the road against Mustangs (#8) in London, ON.
