The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked Badgers' (7-3) road loss to second ranked Golden Hawks (9-1) in Waterloo, ON 70-93 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Hawks. Badgers was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Golden Hawks forced 25 Badgers turnovers and had a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Badgers' players. Center Matthew Buckley (215) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. International forward Kale Harrison (196) contributed with 24 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Golden Hawks players scored in double figures. Forward Michael Williams (188) replied with 23 points and forward Mark Gibson (198) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Badgers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Golden Hawks keep a position of league leader, which they share with Victoria and Lakehead. Loser Badgers dropped to the fourth place with three games lost.
