Very expected game when 8th ranked Panerythraikos (6-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Apollon Patras (9-4) 70-54. The game was mostly controlled by Apollon Patras. Panerythraikos was better in fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Apollon Patras dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Panerythraikos' 22 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Panerythraikos 42-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Panerythraikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Serbian swingman Vladimir Petrovic-Stergiou (198-77, agency: BeoExcell) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Nikos Argyropoylos (188-78) accounted for 17 points (made all of his eight free throws). Four Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. Guard Stelios Kontoudis (185-73) came up with 18 points and forward Sotiris Katoufas (206-79) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Panerythraikos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Apollon Patras moved-up to second place, which they share with AEK. Panerythraikos at the other side dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Apollon Patras' next round opponent will be Pagrati (#13) in Athens which should be an easy win for them. Panerythraikos will play at home against the league's leader Panelefsiniakos in Eleusina.
