Very important is a road loss of second ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (11-5) against twelfth ranked AZS Szczecin (7-9) on Saturday night. Visiting MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza was defeated by AZS Szczecin in a tough game in Szczecin 68-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 23-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 68-75 at the end of the game. AZS Szczecin made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza turnovers. Guard Lukasz Pacocha (182-82, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and guard Michal Dudek (182-88) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Michal Woloszyn (202-84) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (176-93) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS Szczecin moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Start Lublin. Loser MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Start Gdynia. AZS Szczecin will meet higher ranked MKS Znicz Basket (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play against AZS Kutno (#8) and hope to secure a win.
