Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Tarbes (7-8) lost on the road to fourth ranked Mondeville (10-5) 68-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mondeville. Tarbes managed to win third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mondeville forced 19 Tarbes turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Mali center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Ingrid Tanqueray (166-88) accounted for 11 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Ana-Maria Cata-Chitiga (195-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tarbes in the defeat. Mondeville maintains fourth place with 10-5 record. Loser Tarbes dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Mondeville will meet league's second-placed Lattes Montpellier on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tarbes will play against Union Hainaut (#6) in Saint-Amand and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
