Very predictable result when third ranked Bourges (10-4) won against at home 12th ranked Villeneuve D'Asco (5-10) 71-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bourges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bourges outrebounded Villeneuve D'Asco 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for international Nwal-Endene Miyem (188-88) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Celine Dumerc (169-82) accounted for 8 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. American forward Sidney Spencer (191-85, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) came up with 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Belgian guard Kathy Wambe (173-81) added 6 points and 9 assists respectively for Villeneuve D'Asco in the defeat. Bourges have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Challes. Villeneuve D'Asco lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Aix-en-Provence and Lyon. Bourges will meet Basket Landes (#5) in the next round. Villeneuve D'Asco will play against Arras (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
