Bottom-ranked AEK/Argous (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-66 loss to sixth ranked Lavrio (8-5) in Lavrio on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Lavrio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by AEK/Argous' players. Forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and swingman Giorgos Tirlas (197-80) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Lavrio players scored in double figures. Lavrio's coach Christos Serellis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Serbian guard Alex Stevovic (191-90) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Kostas Maglos (208-75, college: Boston Coll.) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Lavrio moved-up to fourth place. Loser AEK/Argous still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Lavrio will meet at home Ermis Lagkada (#8) in the next round. AEK/Argous will play against Doxa Lefkadas (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
