Regular Season Round 13: Memorial - Dalhousie 85-68

Date: January 7, 2012
There was no surprise in St. John's where 6th ranked Dalhousie (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Memorial (6-2) 85-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Memorial. Dalhousie was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Memorial especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Forward Robyn O'Rielly (178) fired 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Ally Forsey (191-90) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Memorial players scored in double figures. Forward Cailin Crosby (188-87) produced 22 points and guard Courtney Thompson (175) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Memorial. They moved-up to second place, which they share with UBC. Dalhousie lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
