Regular Season Round 13: St.Mary's - UPEI 65-44

Everything went according to plan in Halifax, NS where first ranked Huskies (8-1) outleveled 8th ranked UPEI (1-7) 65-44 on Saturday. Huskies dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UPEI's 42. They outrebounded UPEI 57-32 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Huskies looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. International guard Justine Colley (175-91) fired 14 points and 8 assists for the winners. Center Susanne Canvin (180-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Laura Power (182) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Danielle Macdonald (165) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. UPEI's coach Carly Clarke gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Huskies. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. UPEI lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
