Regular Season Round 13: TRU - Manitoba 67-49

Not a big story in a game in Kamloops where 11th ranked Manitoba (3-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Thompson Rivers (5-5) 67-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Thompson Rivers. Manitoba was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thompson Rivers forced 23 Manitoba turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Diane Schuetze (191) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Forward Tracy Kocs (178) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Allison Balasko (180) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and forward Maria Pawlyshyn (175-89) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Manitoba's coach Pam Danis let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Thompson Rivers. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Manitoba lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
