Regular Season Round 13: Laurentian - Carleton 44-69

Date: January 7, 2012
Very predictable result in Greater Sudbury where second ranked Carleton (7-3) outscored 7th ranked Laurentian (2-8) 69-44 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Carleton. Laurentian was better in third quarter 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Laurentian to just 6 points in second quarter. Carleton forced 21 Laurentian turnovers. Guard Jessica Resch (178) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alyson Bush (170) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Guard Erin Simpson (170) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Emma Decloe (183) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Carleton maintains second place with 7-3 record behind leader Ottawa, which they share with 5 other teams. Laurentian lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Carleton will have a break next round. Laurentian will play at home against York (#6) in Toronto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
