LigaA top team - Obras (11-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Club 9 (3-9) in Rio Tercero 94-82. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 51-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Obras made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Club 9 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a quality performance of international power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international guard Julio Mazzaro (190-79) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Jazwin Cowan (205-83, college: Hampton, agency: Dream Team Management) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Obras have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Club 9 lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with GECR Indalo. Obras are looking forward to face San Martin Corrientes (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Club 9 will play against Sionista in Parana and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
