Very important is a home loss of second ranked Milano (11-2) against fifth ranked Muggia (9-4) on Sunday night. Host Milano was defeated by Muggia in a tough game in Milano 45-50. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Milano. The guests were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 15-4 last quarter charge of Milano cut the lead to 50-45 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Muggia's coach Matjia Jogan allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swedish center Jenny Lidgren (191-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Ntumba Madelene Mitongu (180-81) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Milano. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Muggia. Newly promoted Muggia maintains fifth place in North with 9-4 record. Milano at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Muggia's next round opponent will be Marghera (#9) in Venezia. Milano will play on the road against the league's second-placed Vigarano (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
