Regular Season Round 22: Liaoning H. - Shandong FB 94-102

There was an upset in Yingkou where higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (11-10) were defeated by twelfth ranked Shandong Bulls (9-12) 102-94 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Liaoning Hunters won third quarter 27-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Shandong Bulls won last quarter 31-25. Liaoning Hunters were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Alan Anderson (198-82, college: Michigan St., agency: Priority Sports) scored 30 points and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) chipped in 22 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Shandong Bulls' coach Bob Weiss allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) responded with 27 points and the former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. Four Shandong Bulls and five Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Qingdao DS. Loser Liaoning Hunters dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Shandong Bulls will face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
