Bottom-ranked Jiangsu Dragons managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against ninth-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige in Nanjing 97-84. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-84. Jiangsu Dragons forced 29 Xinjiang Flying Tige turnovers. Strangely Xinjiang Flying Tige outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 49-32 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international swingman Da Meng (196-82) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. American forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 26 rebounds and the former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons maintains seventeenth position with 5-16 record. Loser Xinjiang Flying Tige keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Shanxi Zh.. Jiangsu Dragons will meet higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#9) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Beijing Ducks having rather not much hope for a victory.
