A very interesting game took place in Jesi. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Fileni BPA (6-8) to fourteenth ranked Prima Veroli (5-9) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Fileni BPA was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Prima Veroli, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward David Brkic (210-82, agency: Interperformances) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Barry Elder (193-82, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Prima Veroli players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Jeff Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) added 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Prima Veroli moved-up to thirteenth place. Fileni BPA at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Prima Veroli's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked S.Antimo (#15) in Sant'Antimo.
