Regular Season Round 15: Novipiu Casale - Acea Virtus RM 92-93

Important game to mention about took place in Casale. Twelfth ranked Lottomatica Roma (7-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 14th ranked Novipiu CM (4-10) 93-92 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 26-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Lottomatica Roma dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Novipiu CM's 26. It was a good game for Bosnian forward Nihad Djedovic (196-90, agency: Beo Basket) who saved his team from a defeat with 22 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Slovenian power forward Uros Slokar (210-83) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. American guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona) answered with 24 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Matt Janning (196-88, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 18 points in the effort for Novipiu CM. Novipiu CM's coach Marco Crespi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lottomatica Roma moved-up to eleventh place. Newly promoted Novipiu CM dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Lottomatica Roma will face higher ranked Scavolini Pesaro (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Novipiu CM will play against Banca Tercas (#16) in Teramo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
