Sixth-ranked Ruvo (2-16) was very close to win a game against first ranked Recanati (10-8). Recanati managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Ruvo took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Recanati had a 35-25 second period charge getting the lead and Ruvo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-70. Guard Marco Evangelisti (198-84) scored 17 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Recanati players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marco Tagliabue (206-86) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Frederic Emejuru (203-88) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Ruvo's coach Giulio Cadeo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Recanati have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-8 record, which they share with Casalpusterlengo and Bari. Ruvo lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Recanati will play against Chieti (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ruvo will play against the league's leader Napoli and hopes to get back on the winning track.
